I just wondered on avarage prices....I've seen UK Chihuahuas listed from £450 to £2500 for example.anyone have examples of breeds and what they paid and which country you are in?To the rude person that contstantly feels he/she knows it all - in the UK only purebreds can have a registered pedigree - so they are commonly referred to here as pedigree. We only have one Kennel Club. Why you feel rudeness helps your point I will never know. Thanks to all the people that have been actually answering the question.

I paid £800 for my Bordeaux which is about $1,600 but I don't know the average price of a DDB in the US so can't compare, sorry.ADDED......Thanks Curtis, he's a big baby.Have just looked on Preloved and the most expensive Chi I found was £1,800, ridiculous amount of money, I do vaguely recall seeing Chi's advertised on another site for over £2,000 though, anyone willing to pay that must have more money than sense in my book.

500 POUNDS FOR A LAB!?!?!? That's around a THOUSAND US DOLLARS!!! And $5,000 for a **** Chihuahua!?!?! You guys are getting reamed! Bad! If I pay a thousand bucks for a lab he better retrieve my duck for me BEFORE I shoot it! If I pay $5,000 for a Chihuahua it better teach me espanol and know how to make a mean Taco!!!800 pounds for a DDB is about average priced. Nice dog if that him in the pic btw.Btw! Never have I ever in my life seen somebody attempt to sell a ****** Chihuahua for $2,500...I can buy a SVV 1 trained adult German Shepherd straight from the Czech Republic for that kind of money so why would I spend it on a giant hamster aka Chihuahua!?!?

I travel a lot and from what I've seen, prices in the US and UK are the same "Amount", so of course with current exchange rates, you're paying double the USD in the UK - Chi's in the US range from $450-$2500.It's just like if you see a shirt at the Gap - Here in the US, the shirt is $32 and in the UK, it's £32 (Or $64 USD).

Price in the US and the UK really depend on the quality of the dog, the quality of the BREEDER, and supply and Demand. In the US, my two breeds-Afghan Hounds-$750-$2000 average.Havanese-$900-$2500I know a lot of people that have imported dogs, both from UK to US and vice a versa, prices are about the same for breeding and show quality in both countries. I would imagine most other breeds run about the same amount in both countries. The internet and insemination technology has opened up worldwide communication and access for the animal breeders around the world. We can easily bring in new gene sets and use them to in-vigorate the breeds we are working with. It's a very exciting time for Pure bred dog, horse, cat, cattle, whatever breeders!

Depends on the breeder and the quality of dogs they are breeding. For ex: We breed Labrador Retrievers. OFA Good/Normal & Excellent/Good throughout pedigree, 57 Champions on sires side and traced back to 1915 *Dual Ch Banchory Bolo*, 35 Champions on dams side and traced back to 1885 *Bucchleuch Avon*. Great temperament, nice conformation and sire will be shown once we've settled in after our move in January. Pups price can vary depending on location. Currently we are south of St. Louis *about an hour* and are selling ours for $500. If we were in S.C. or Louisiana *where there are waaaaaay more hunters* they'd go for $750. We are not in it for the money but for the betterment of the breed. Some people would charge $1200 or more for a dog with similar stats. I'd rather make sure the pups go to good companion, working or show homes first. A good breeder isn't in it for the money. On the other hand - Bucchleuch Gundogs, the original breeders of the Labrador Retriever *starting in the late 1800's and where our female is descended from* have pups for sale for 1500 lbs (a little less than $3000 US). They do have some field trialed champions, but they mainly train the dogs on their facility, health test, and breed for temperament and keep to the original Lab look/conformation. They are not in it for the money either, in my opinion. There Labs are LITERALLY the original line that was established. They are the ONE and ONLY true breeders of the Labrador. There pups are worth a small fortune to keep the breed true to its origin. I think their price is VERY reasonable.Breeding, the breed, the breeder and location have just as much to do with price as pedigree/health/temper.

Hey kiddo, I am in the US, I paid $3,000.00 for a 12 wk old Min. Schnauzer, was pedigreed, both parents were chanpions, and he has pointed out fully and I have retired him at 6 yrs old.My baby, Demon, at 8 wks old we paid $2500.00 for him, we were going to show him, but he had a little accident and broke back leg and is not crooked, but has the bend to it a little, so could not show him, thats okay he is one of my house babies. And Koda, my male Akita he was 2,000.00 and my brother got him for me for Christmas, and both his parents are champions also.it really depends on the breeder, the pedigree of the breed you want, and if you want to show the dog or not.even some Min. Schnauzers go for 1,000.00 just for pet....and Akita's well, they are expensive no matter where you get them...but always make sure you can see both parents and if the breeder says they are champions, depend the papers and ask to see the proof of titles and championships they have won.......and you already know to get a full health guarantee and vet refence, so you can their vet, and then within 72 hrs to your own vet with contract of return if puppy is not healthy.and also get other buyers references from the breeder, if they dont want to furnish any of the above, walk away.they are not a reputable breeder.Breeder/show/hanlder 15 yrsif you want to really compare breeds and prices, pls go towww.americankennelclub.com they refer to only good reputable breeders all over,,,and you can be sure these are good breeders and wont stiff yougood luck
