My 7 month old chihuahua was completely toilet trained, or so I thought. Then I went out of town for the weekend and took him with me. I had to leave him in the hotel room while I went to a funeral, burial etc. He wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink and he wouldn't poop (except on the passanger seat of our car). I tried walking him, placing down his pottie pad etc. When I got him home he refused to go poo on his pad. Instead, he pooped on our new couch and pee'd on our bed, which he's never ever done before!

After having enjoyed almost 4 months of complete freedom in the house, he is now confined to his pen while not held. He is no longer allowed to sit or sleep on our bed. He wimpers and cries all the time now and is very sad but I cannot allow him to soil the places my husband and I live in. Can anyone tell me what happened and how long I will have to keep him confined? Seeing him so sad breaks my heart so I really want to find a solution to be able to restore his privilages.
