He was a 6 pound chihuahua. I found some blue powdery material on the carpet and saw a teeny piece of chewed up paper, I had to try really hard to read it and figured out it was some kind of rodent poison. I have NEVER seen anything like this in my house before and had NO clue where he got it. He must've found it somewhere deep down where it had been for years or something.Anyway, nothing at all happened to him. Dont know if maybe the amount was too small, but then again he is a tiny dog.Dont yell at me--this was years ago when I was young and stupid (didn't take him to the vet, just tried to make him throw up--thank God he was fine).I am just wondering how could he have eaten it and been fine?

well dogs like children especially that small can get into places you cant see or know exist. my dog once at about 30 chicken wings with the bones but i took him to the vet and he pooped them all out. =)

Truth be told, he couldn't have eaten it. If you saw it, it was enough to seriously hurt him. It had to be something else. I used to work at an emergency clinic. I have seen so many animals come in because of rat poison. It is so sad. Most don't make it, the others leave with permenant damage and thousands of dollars in medical bills. So rest easy, you did nothing wrong, that couldn't have been poison. However, if you ever see anything like that again, get a sample and find out what it is. If it is bad, and could hurt your dog, you have to find out right away. The quicker he gets treated, the better his chances!
