Would a pregnant chihuahua be a candidate for the dog pound?
Please take this poor soul into your loving home, you won't ever regret it! You know, as well as i do, that if this little lady is taken into the Pound she won't come out, nor will her babies! Its too much for them to deal with but you can deal with it - i have a sixth sense ha ha. Honestly my friend, now that this little lady has your interest you're not going to be able to ignore it nor will you like the thought of her going to someone else who may not care for her - they may only be interested in how much money her pups will make them! Any animal charity in your area will willingly help you out with medical costs - not that there should be any - i bet those little ones slip out without you noticing!!! All dogs carry a risk of difficulties during labour and the birth and its very rare that anything major occurs or that mum requires a c-section! Is there a vet teaching university near you? If there is they will fall over themselves to help you for free - its valuable experience for the student vets and in return your new little pregnant friend gets the very best of medical care!!! Can't be bad! All that dog is asking for is a warm, loving home, somewhere peaceful and secure to have her babies and some food and water - its not too much is it? By all means rehome her once her pups have been rehomed but i've another feeling she'll live happily ever after with you! Whatever you decide to do - best of luck.
